Rams Island provide Island Warrior

Day 1 of the Antrim to Castlerock Charity canoe trip involves a tricky paddle across the north shore of Lough Neagh.

If we get a calm day the trip should go without incident. However, due to the unpredictable nature Lough Neagh, Eye Feel Good have secured the services of the Rams Island Project’s "Island Warrior".

The Island Warrior is a twin engined 33 foot Aquastar built by Aquastar in the Channel Islands. She has twin 212 h.p. Ford Sabre engines with PRM gearboxes. She has a Category 2 (up to 60 miles from safe haven) Maritime and Coastguard Agency Licence for 12 passengers and 3 crew valid until May 2014. She cruises at 15 knots with a top speed over 23 knots.

As you can see, she’s a serious bit of kit.

Michael from the Ram’s Island Project said that "We are looking forward to accompanying Eye Feel Good across the Lough Neagh stage of their canoe trip. We hope for a good morning and a fair wind behind us."

Eye Feel Good would like to thank the Ram’s Island Project for their help and support.
