£5000 Donation to MacMillan Unit

We ‘officially’ handed over a cheque for £5000 to the Macmillan Fundraising Committee from Antrim.  The money will go directly to help fund the Palliative Care Unit at Antrim Area Hospital.

£5000 could pay for one of the specialist chairs that each ward is equipped with.  This gives some sense of perspective on how valuable each penny that is donated is actually worth.

See the endorsement that Macmillan gave us for our Summer Ball.

“Thank you for supporting the Eye Feel Good SummerBall on Saturday 11th June.

The Eye Feel Good Charity has been supporting Macmillan since being foundedin 2009 and has been raising funds to support the new Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Unit at Antrim Area Hospital. The new unit is the first Specialist Palliative Care Unit in the NHS in Northern Ireland. It cost in excess of £5 million of which Macmillan has contributed £2.1 million. It will provide comprehensive specialist palliative care and support to patients with life-limiting conditions and their families. It will also deliver a range of inpatient and outpatient servicesincluding symptom control, rehabilitation and end-of-life care.”
