Whooper Swan Paddle On Lough Beg To Celebrate World Wetlands Day

Qualified canoe instructors from Eye Feel Good were the guides for this unique opportunity to paddle the beautiful Lough Beg wetlands by Open Canoe to view Whooper Swans and other wildlife.

Lough Beg is a wetland of international significance as a waterfowl habitat and this was a trip not to be missed.

16 members enjoyed a paddle in open boats/ canadian canoes from Toome Lock to Newferry via Lough Beg to celebrate world wetlands dayThe event was organised by Antrim Borough Council.

Initially the conditions where not ideal for navigation or spotting wildlife as a thick fog covered the River Bann and Lough Beg.

The fog eventually lifted as the party left church island the true majesty of Lough Beg was unveiled to the participants.
